This past October, I had the amazing privilege of hosting the Black Women in Asset Management (BWAM) 2023 Gala Dinner for the prestigious 40 Under 40 Awards. It was a night of inspiration, elegance, and empowerment, organised to honour the remarkable contributions made by black women to the Asset Management industry.
A Night to Remember
The venue was exquisitely decorated, perfectly capturing the importance and beauty of the event. I had a great sense of joy and fulfilment as I took the platform to welcome the distinguished guests. This event celebrated the collective power and resiliency of Black women in the asset management industry in addition to acknowledging individual achievements.
Recognizing Trailblazers
The 40 Under 40 Awards celebrate the achievements of black women who have not only achieved professional success but also cleared the path for upcoming generations. Each recipient has made a noteworthy contribution to the asset management industry by demonstrating extraordinary leadership, innovation, and dedication.
Moments of Inspiration
The keynote speech by renowned industry leader Jackie James, the CEO of BWAM (formerly known as Jackie Taiwo), who shared her journey and the lessons she learnt along the way, was one of the evening's highlights. Her remarks served as a call to action for all of us to keep pursuing excellence and equity in the workplace in addition to being inspirational.
Capturing the Essence
The joy, friendship, and celebration of excellence that characterised the evening are captured in the event photos. Every picture conveys a different tale, from the sophisticated outfits and smart suits to the smiles and laughter among the guests. These are special moments that I am excited to share with you because they embody the achievement and dedication of the black women we celebrated that evening.
